Charles Gordon is Principal of Charles Gordon Architecture. Throughout his 30-year career he has become an established design leader in Western New York with projects of local and national significance. He served as Director of Design for one of Western New York's most successful A/E firms.

Mr. Gordon has won numerous awards and award nominations for Architecture encompassing several building types and notably:

During his almost 40-year career, Mr. Gordon has served as Vice President/Senior Designer at one of the nation’s largest multidisciplinary A/E firms; as Director of Design for one of Western New York’s most successful A/E firms. As Principal of Charles Gordon Architecture, he is currently directing the design for over $200 million in a variety of Urban Developments.
Highlights include a new Downtown Waterfront Residential Community, a Hi-density low/mid rise Mixed-Use Development in one of Buffalo’s historic neighborhoods, and continuing advisory role in re-shaping Buffalo’s Downtown Inner Harbor. Just recently, Mr. Gordon led a multi-disciplinary team that was awarded $1M First Prize and commission for the Gates-Re-Use competition, to re-purpose an aging 10 acre urban hospital complex into a Mixed Use re-development highlighted by a teaching Hospital for Veterinary Medicine. His widely acclaimed Vision to re-design the Erie Street corridor to re-connect Downtown Waterfront to Main Street is an on- going effort.
Mr. Gordon has directed numerous award-winning designs for both office and mixed-use facilities including the new Theater District Police Precinct facility in Buffalo recognized by WNY AIA for Design excellence in 2000. He has designed Mixed Use Developments for several corporations ranging in size from 25,000 SF to 150,000 SF: of particular note is 655 Main Street, a Mixed-Use office/retail/ parking development in downtown Buffalo’s historic theater District.
He is currently overseeing the final Design for a 200,000 SF Mixed-Use Development in one of Buffalo’s historic neighborhoods; Elmwood/ Forest Gateway is scheduled to start construction early next year. His Design for $65,000,000 for 2012 Webster Block competition on behalf of Ellicott Development Company won 2nd Place. Mr. Gordon also completed a certificate program in Entertainment Architecture at Harvard University in 1997.
